Disaster Assistance Still Available for Flood Victims

There’s just over two weeks left to claim financial assistance from the disastrous flooding in December. If you or someone you know has been affected by the recent floods and needs support, The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services has some resources. [WA DSHS]

• Which Counties Qualify? Benton, Chelan, Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, King, Kittitas, Lewis, Pacific, Pierce, Skagit, Snohomish, Thurston, Yakima and Whatcom. Disaster Cash Assistance is available until Jan. 15, 2026, for eligible households affected by flooding in those counties.
• Did You Lose Food? You can actually file a claim for any food lost due to flooding or power outage. Claims must be filed within ten days.
• Need More Information? Call the Customer Service Contact Center at 877-501-2233 or visit your local Community Services Office between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
